 Of Angels and Demons
« Thread Started on Feb 23, 2008, 11:43pm »

It was believed to be Armageddon when suddenly the sky and earth opened up. Allowing fleets of angels and their arch-rival fallen angels to rise up and greet them. And although these two forces were of opposite side, neither attacked as they met on the ground of Earth. It was soon known that a pact was made among the celestial and the damned. To insure peace and balance with the heavens and pits, the lords of both sides agreed to allow their servants to live among the mortals and begin a new era for all mankind....

**************

Diana scoffed as she roamed among the miserable streets of Los Angeles. Appropriately named as this was where most of the celestials and fiends congregated to. For her, a half-blooded fiend, it was hell. Most of the angels had quickly made this their home and even with the pact of peace, none of the angels made it homely for any demon or half-blood of there’s to live in. She had to use her blood-red hair to hide the small horns on either side of her head and a bandanna, to give an excuse of holding her flaming hair back and hiding her horns. Another trait she had to hide was her red bat-like wings and her tail. These were harder to keep hidden from view as they weren't made to be constricted. But she mastered the act of it, by curling it around her waist, like a belt. And tucked her wings under her arms and wore a large coat over them. Her molten eyes hid behind very thick sunglasses and her claws in leather gloves. Other than that, she looked mostly human.

Diana roamed the streets for about two hours. How much she just wanted to get this over with and go back to the comforts of her nice, dry apartment. Where she no angels could bother her, or humans for that matter...But no, she had a job to do and she wouldn't be allowed to go home until she completed it.

There was some trouble in her neighborhood, or as anyone with demonic blood in them would call it their territory. That trouble mainly consisting from a group of hoodlums who thought themselves the new kings of the city. Just because they've been rounding up any young girl they could get their meaty hands on and sacrifice them to give them supposed demonic blessings from Lucifier...

What a load of shit, right?

Diana snorted in disgust at them. They could kill a million young virgins and the ruler of hell would never give them his blessing. Why? Because they were fucked up, delusional morons.

...Which was why she was roaming the streets that night. Her superiors wanted these humans dealt with as quickly and as quietly as possible. All before the angels use it as levarage to boost their support in ridding Los Angelos of any demonic heritage.

Now that wouldn't sound like a bad thing to a human, but for a half-demon like her...it meant a great deal. For one thing, America was the only continent that the demons who just wanted to have a simply exsistance could have that. Like her, they just wanted to have the same privilages as the humans and the angels. But would the angels consider that? Fuck no!

As far as they're concerned all demons and anyone how'd bed them should be locked back up in the fiery pits of hell.

And that was why she was forced to hunt down a bunch of stupid humans. To put an end to their stupidity before they screwed over everything for her. At least, that was her reason she gave herself to belief. Her real reason was that if she didn't....she wouldn't get paid anymore....

Willow followed Diana as long as she dared, before revealing herself to her old partner.

"Another bounty Diana?" Willow said from behind her. She took the hood off of her head and smiled at Diana, her sharp white teeth, as menacing as ever. Her golden eyes sparkled mischeviously, as they usually did."You're going to need my help for this one though...these boys have a demonic master pulling the strings. Just like old times, huh?" She joked. Diana glared at her.

"Sorry, direct orders from the big guy himself...he knew that I used to work with you, and this demonic puppet master is guilty of high treason from past events--that are classified...the sooner this is dealt with, the better."Willow began to walk towards their destination, heeding no ear to Diana's protests.

Diana rolled her eyes as Willow flirted with various people and immortals that walked by them, who had reddened faces or embarrassed expressions, that were hidden when they briskly turned toward a different direction.

"So much has changed since "Armageddon," as the humans call it, I'll pretty much take any assignment these days to get away from the Underworld for awhile...it's quite sad actually." Willow said, she ran a white gloved hand through her foxy red hair tiredly, which hung mainly on the right side of her face.

Diana growled in annoyance at her old partner. She hadn't forgotten how much this girl could get under her skin, but she had to admit, that if she had to pick someone as back-up, she'd have chosen Willow. As much as the girl flirted and toyed with everyone, especially around her, she knew she could rely on her to hold her ground when things got out of hand.

Which was the only reason why she could stand her...

"Yes, things haven't been the same since that time..." Diana acknowledged. "But keep in mind that we are to lay low and get this mission done as quickly and quietly as we can." Diana fixed her with her hard stare, and in a softer voice. "We cannot allow anyone to know about our mission...or to see us accomplish our mission...You know what will have to be done if otherwise, or else both our asses will be frying in the deepest hell pit..."

Willow scoffed. "They can all kiss my ass. As far as I'm concerned, I'm too good to get burned. Besides, I think you're totally--" Willow paused uncertainly, she squinted her golden eyes up the street, at the sound of a scream.

Diana started to ask her to continue, then looked in the same direction after Willow pointed towards the disturbance. Willow's eyes glowed black; she was searching the shadows over by the scream.

"Five of them, all males. One girl...I can't make out a demonic presence for the moment...so we'll have to guess that there's a possibility of one more guest waiting in the darkness. I'll search for the demon master, while you distract the kids. Then at least, we can make sure that the pigs aren't just out for a good time." Willow's eyes glowed red, her teeth got much longer, her fangs reached to mid-chin length on her pale face. Her horns sprouted from her head, black wings and forked tail came from her back.

She growled with pain as all this happened, and slowly sank into the shadows, following Diana as they began to move toward the alleyway and into the nightmare that surely awaited them. Willow grinned in anticipation of killing again.

Diana snarled slightly at her partner's plan....like all the ones in the past, she ended up shaking her ass for someone. How she loathed this kind of work.

Putting on her playful face; an expression she had developed as a mask for when she was working. She smiled exotically at the group of humans and slowly unbuttoned two top buttons of her jacket, exposing her healthy cleavage for them to stare at. Hey, if they are the ones that are behind the killings...the least she could do was give them one has thrill before she sent their souls straight to hell. Cruel, but that thought made her sexy smile all the more seductive...

"Hello, boys...My, it seems you've gotten yourselfs a play-mate," she cooed softly, adding some of her demonic power into her voice to attract the men's attention.

She hardly had to. Two of them already saw her approaching her and already making their way to her.

"Hey, Hot-mama...you looking for a good time?" a teen with spiky red hair said coolly, or tried to.

The other one, this one with no hair at all, said, "Mmm-MM! Fucking hot tits there you've got! You are seriously a hot bitch!"

Her smile grew a touch more with evil. You boys have no idea how hot I am....Seeing as my father was a Pit-Lord...

Diana let the boys pull her toward the helpless girl. The other three pull away from the girl so the two could put her up against the girl they've been tormenting. When she looked upon the beaten eye, her anger flared.

The girl was a half-breed...just like her. Only she looked to have some Flora demon in her genetics. Her green hair and plantish-like skin was a dead give-away. The poor half-breed looked up at her with one purple eye, only that one because the other was black from where she most have been punched by one of the teens; full of fright.

At that moment, she didn't care if these teens were the right ones or not. They would suffer for their sin and she would be the weapon of their demise!

"He's gotta be around here somewhere...dammit." Willow muttered. She didn't like the feeling she was getting from Diana. Willow could tell that she was about to kill the boys, and if she did that while Willow silently studied their mind's...well, the same would happen to her.

As Willow stopped to study her partner for her next move, one of the teens shadow flickered oddly in the corner of the alley.

"Wait a minute-" Willow wasn't quick enough to stop the immense pressure of a mind wave that shot through her, she should have seen this coming and scolded herself. But, how did I miss him? She thought irritably, as she tumbled out of the shadow's into the alley. She quickly regained her balance after knocking over one of the teenagers to do so.

She shook her head, regaining her senses swiftly, scanning the area's shadow's with full pitch black eyes.

"Diana, he's here!" Willow half yelled. Diana was at her old partners side immediately. All of the young men gasped at the sight of Willow in her demon form. Without a second thought, Willow drew her gun from her leg holster and shot three of them through their foreheads, Diana had already taken care of the other two.

Another short distraction, and another attack. This one hit both women with the same amount of mind pressure as before. Willow's pointy tipped ears began to ring irritably as she stood again, clearly ready to kill without hesitation.

"Damn you to hell if I don't get to take you back there with me!" Willow snarled, as the puppeteer stayed hidden within the shadow's, jumping about randomly. Wilow moved quickly, she withdrew her gun once more and shot the figure as it moved uncertainly to the side of the alley, to switch to another wall. It growled with pain and tried to move, Willow shot it again.

"Not so tough without those boys to control, eh? Willow taunted him, her voice low and dangerous."Y'know, He wanted you to be brought back alive...but, I think I can take the punishment for shooting you through the brain." A sinister grin grew on Willow's pale grey face, as she nudged his head with her black heeled boot, examining her prey carefully. Diana watched close by, eager to kill the demonic entity that was responsible for all that had happened. The half Flora demon whimpered in the corner of the alley, her voice and fear now becoming audible to Willow.

Willow glanced with glowing crimson eyes over to the young girl. She saw how beat up the half breed was, and yet, it seemed as if she didn't care about the pain. She had her back pushed against the wall, her good eye wide open and full of fear at something; someone. Stunned, Willow looked over her shoulder for a moment, there was nothing; then she realized. She's scared of me. Willow thought, then took a deep breath and looked down at the ground in shame.

She somewhat recoiled at the reflection of herself in the pool of blood pouring from her victim. Her clan's legacy, of the intricately beautiful tatooed body that appears, when your soul has completely vanished from your being, which was swirling across her face, and arms, and stomach. When the demonic side has full control, this is what becomes of the host. Willow blinked, and held her eyes closed for a couple of moments. When she reopened them, they were once more golden. She regained control, and her composure. Her demonic features retracted from sight, and Willow rolled her arms and neck in relief.

"Diana, grab the girl. I'll carry the demon...we'll drop her off on the way." She wouldn't look directly at Diana, she couldn't. Her mind was too heavy and guilty to focus on anything. How did I get this way...? Was all that Willow could think on their way.

Diana gently took the poor half-breed into her arms, whispering calm and comforting words to her. "You're all right. You're safe now. We'll take you somewhere safe and warm."

The girl nodded and let herself be picked up. Diana carried her bridel-style and turned to her partner. Her sharp eyes caught the confliction in her friend's eyes, but made no sign she took notice. Now wasn't the time for this. They still had that shadowy-being to deal with.

"Willow, grab that puppeteer bastard you shot. We'll need him to explain what he's been doing, and who it's working for," Diana said calmly. "I'll head back to HQ with the girl and see she's taken care of...and Willow, you and I need to talk later."

Sighing in content, she unfolded her wings from under her coat, slipping them through the slips in her coat that allowed her to let her wings out without having to take it off. Holding and purring for the girl dearingly, she gave her a warm smile before taking off into the air and flew quickly to HQ.

Willow's body shuddered, from the cold, or the overwhelming guilt rising from deep within her chest. She considered both as fit reasons. The puppeteer shuddered as well, only, a low chuckle rose from his pale throat. Willow glanced over to him, golden eyes tinted red from rising anger.

"What the fuck is so funny?" She growled at him, his laugh halting at the deep menace lacing her words.

"You're a Karidishan aren't you? A blue blood..." He asked, Willow remained silent. "Didn't know that you halfbred, vampiric hell children still existed." The demon muttered. Willow turned on her heel, kneeling gracefully infront of him.

"Is that what they're calling them these days? I wonder how exactly, they got any information on them...care to share how you know?" Willow asked, placing her hand upon her leg holster on her right thigh.

"Those tattoos...how'd you get them on your body all of the sudden? Magic? I don't think so. We've learned about the Karidishan for years at the academy...no one's interested though, because Lucifer had all of them killed two hundred years ago...but that's beside my point. I cared. And I got kicked out of school for my forbidden researches on the Karidishan as a result. I think you know where I'm going with this...I want to know how you survived Lucifer's rampage..." He said, slightly losing the interest in his life, knowing his bullet wounds would kill him in about ten minutes. Willow noticed this too, and removed her white coat. She ripped off pieces and formed bandages from them.

"Why are you so sure that I'm one of them?" Willow asked leveling his gaze with hers. He smiled at her, his dark eyes twinkling mischievously. " I really don't have time for this, kid. Answer me, or I'll make you." Willow's gaze turned red in an instant. The puppeteer cowered a little.

"I have another gift...I can see part's of the mind's of whomever I touch." He replied, Willow smiled slightly, then her gaze shifted to the moon.

"How much did you see?" She murmured. The puppeteer stayed silent. Willow chuckled, sliding her hand through her red side bangs. "I guess Diana's waiting. I'll talk to you about this later, kid." He cringed slightly, the sudden change in Willow's mood worried him somewhat. A dark vision overtook his sight, and he slumped to the ground in an instant.

Willow slung him over her shoulder, and her dark feathered wings opened towards the sky in flight. The death in the alleyway was eaten away by dark crawling shadows at her leave, and a pale man stepped out from them, a thin smile spreading on his black painted lips.

Walking through the streets the silver haired man sighed. 'why does this shit always happen to me? he thought dodging a baseball bat that would have taken his head off. eyes widening he curses 'damnit they really are serious this time' pulling a knife from a pocket of his black trench coat he slashes a mans hand earning him a startled cry of pain.'heh bunch of wimps' a man sneaking up behind him is stabbed through the throat by a spaded tail that had come from his coat.tail waving like a whip the man made short work of the other foolish thugs.'damnit i would love being an incubbus if it werent for the more obvious problems. vampires have to suck blood but we have to have sex to feed. that alone makes us monsters in the angels eyes, but humans dont like it much either' running a hand through his shoulder length violet hair the man sighed.

Through the night the crow soars. In the shadows they flourish. In fear they are nurtured. In death they are blessed. These are my thoughts. Am i insane? Or am i sanest of all?
